“The Invisible Model” is an editorial which is illustrating just what model’s roles are in many fashion photoshoots today. Their sole purpose sometimes appears to be simply to hold up clothing. This creates an argument with past views of supermodels, which used to celebrate their individual personalities and unique traits. Now, however, it frequently appears that models are used as props in photographs. Not only that, but their distinguishing features are often blurred and they are often placed near people who look similar to them. This is a playful take on an ever-evolving industry which focuses on graphics, environment, and most importantly: the clothes.
