THE INFAMOUS ‘FUCK YEAH FEST’ IS BACK! {FESTIVALS/EVENTS}

If you live anywhere near Los Angeles and you don’t go to FYF (Fuck Yeah Fest) then not only are you missing out, you are obviously not in the know, so you should do something about that. Every year in August two things happen in LA, Summer doesn’t end and FYF goes on – this year at LA Memorial Sports Arena & Exposition Park. Don’t be mistaken either, this isn’t Coachella, or HARD, or Lightning in a Bottle, it’s something completely and amazingly different – more for the punk rock and rebellious inner self you hold back most of the year. Yes this fest is for those of you that just wanna scream, blast your favorite tunes and throw your hands in the air with a big fuck you finger attached, to world! A chance to escape and not be cornered into having to listen to EDM or DJ’s for 12 hrs straight or pay astronomical prices to stay out in an oasis driven spring of carefully curated decorations and money pits. FYF is for the you that grew up on Morrissey, Bloc Party, Frank Ocean, Toro Y Moi, the Blood Brothers and Neon Indian.. for those of you who love seeing music made in front of you rather than produced seemingly played at the push of a button, and with lineups like this years with Chet Faker, Thee Oh Sees, Purity a Ring, Deerhunter, La Femme, Goldroom, Girlpool, Flume, Belle & Sebastian, Kaytranada, Schlomo, Death grips & more, who could resist this smorgasbord of musical heaven. I mean, of course there are some DJ/Producers but that’s because they’re too fucking good to be ignored!

The 12th year of FYF Fest kicks off in less than two weeks on Saturday, August 22nd, and today we are excited to share the lineup of food vendors. All vendors below are new to the fest this year, with the exception of Pure Luck, Sage and Donut Friend, all of whom were so tasty that we had to invite them back again. Nic Adler, who curates the food for the fest, chatted with LAist about the new offerings this year, and the highlighted list is below (in alphabetical order):
