A bedazzling, stellar performance by M83 rocked The Bomb Factory, selling out and releasing new songs from their latest album, “Junk”. Denton native, the talented Kaela Sinclair played as keyboardist and singer – she is the latest addition to the band for their current world tour.

Spiked with energetic waves of pop influence and French synth, they remind you of a jaunty, cheesy 70’s style ballet, in a good way – by catering to your guilty pleasures. Swooping in and scooping you up into an ambient tunnel of atmospheric, dream-like bliss with brilliant non-stop hypnotism of lights, smoke and sound.

The synth is strong here with them, the sound is deep and resonates like a sensation of letting go and falling into a well of echoing sea-like sound to jaunty, electronic ripples. “Junk” is more upbeat, electronica inspired and dream-like than their previous albums.

It’s hard to resist the deep retro 80s sound and feeling of fuzziness from one of their most popular songs, “Midnight City”, one of their classics that would have been a tragedy not to hear. The crowd teems with energy as this song splits out and it feels motivating and energizing. Their style fosters a sense of connectedness among the crowd by imbuing conscious good vibes symbolizing that of a starseed as cosmic bright lights flashed around as they performed. Starseed in the feeling that we are not from Earth but from different star systems/planets and are here now to raise consciousness.

Jazzy, energetic and provoking, the power behind their tone really drives you to get lost in the sound. They are the succinct balance of playing with reality in an introspective and captivating manner, catering to satisfying your musical taste buds with its unique, electronic pop style.
