Trinity Tapes is a two part mixtape series by North Dakota based artist and visionary YISHAY. His sound is something like a sorrowful Twenty One Pilots and a less bitter Gay Blades but with the right amounts of experimental rock. There is something correctly pessimistic about YISHAY art. It doesn’t seem to belong. I don’t think he really wants it to, and thats fine. Uniquely it doesn’t only come with his sound, but his visual work is a foggy representation of his persona as well. On a press release YISHAY mentions:
“GROWING UP IN ONE OF THE COLDEST, MOST ISOLATED PLACES IN AMERICA CHANGES YOU.
THE DARKNESS OF NORTH DAKOTA WINTER NIGHTS LASTS TOO LONG.
BEING CONFINED TO YOUR OWN THOUGHTS CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS OR IT CAN BE VERY BEAUTIFUL.
THIS IS WHAT HAS MADE ME WHO I AM.”
The first series is out now with three singles. ‘Living Out My Life’ and ‘We Don’t Know Our Way’ are the stand out tracks with soft rock like anthems that could get you through a rough afternoon. Trinity Tapes ll will be out next month via Soundcloud. Make sure to peep it.
