With Halloween upon us, we’re excited to showcase the creepy works of Sonia Tibacov, a Romanian artist based in London. Tibacov takes iconic paintings and turns them into subversive works that nightmares are made of. Her portfolio is a beautiful re-working of art history with all sorts of creepy crawlies: the Mona Lisa re-imagined as a tapeworm, Van Gogh as a beetle and Botticelli-inspired dancing ticks.
Through her extensive portfolio, Tibacov breathes a fun but demonic life into the bugs found all over your house. Tibacov also creates unique jewellery and one of pieces out of her illustrations, which would make the perfect finishing touch to any halloween outfit.
