THE GIRL WHOSE BANGLES SANG – CAMILLA ROBINSON {ARTIST TO WATCH/EXCLUSIVE EDITORIAL}

img_1818-copy

At the moment, artist Camilla Robinson is working hard in India, writing a short story which she thinks will manifest as a zine called, “The Girl Whose Bangles Sang“- it’s about the gender inequality she observed during her time there – she’s also creating a lot of mixed media digital illustrations, but she thinks that the series will manifest during her residency period in Australia. Robinson jet-set’s the world, but is normally based in and works in London. Her work focuses on gender, particularly how women are perceived and how social media and the immediacy of the internet affects them. Since graduating from Falmouth University studying Fine Art,  she has been attending residencies in order to keep exploring her passion. She is particularly interested in zines and tends to generate different zines in response to each residency she attends and the environment she finds herself in. Her work is enigmatic and thought provoking, it’s easy to see her passion and voice in her pieces, and it’ll be amazing to see where she takes it next!
