BORDERS – OLIVER VILLEGAS {EXCLUSIVE EDITORIAL/NSFW}

Oliver Villegas, is a London based photographer that is drawn in to Street, Portrait, Fashion and boudoir photography. With background in design and visual production, he has always felt passionate about photography in all its forms.

“It doesn’t matter where you come from, at least when we talk about photography. Isn’t it comforting, the thought that you can be accepted in someone else’s country just by baring your true intentions?

These borders our bodies have, are lines that we can cross just by saying a word as simple as yes.
This is how I usually meet people and the most dangerous way of making new friends.

Dangerous. Like everybody wonders.
Would you show your breast to someone asking you to do so?
Would you let your panties fall to the floor if a stranger would give the order?
Would you lean out the window completely naked or open your legs in front of a shining lens pointed right at you?

If you replied yes without flinching by a second, then you are like me.
A fool.

This world is not meant for boudoir art to make you feel safe and warm, on the contrary; the shivers on your back are the ones keeping you alive.
I do feel them, every time. But I know how to play with shivers and I know that, in order to make my statement possible, I have to dance along with my fears.

I came to be a model because I wanted to prove myself that there’s nothing to be ashamed of.
My body is my temple, I can bare my skin and still feel protected.
There are so many ways of meeting a stranger, but such tortuous chances of meeting new friends.

Sometimes, it’s not even up to us: we just go with the flow and stick to it, until our guts say so.
Oliver’s photography is not what you see in these images: he has so many different sides I can’t even imagine to grasp, but the one I can see through his pictures we took together, is something sipping from an inner soul of sweet and sour.

Dark. Tender. Nostalgic.”
